Jumbo Sprinkles

This is a really easy way to add some flare to your desserts! Homemade sprinkles are prefect for beginner bakers, kids, and maybe even husbands(probably not)
It's hard to find that perfect color of sprinkle, so why not create your own.
Let's start
You will need:
-Royal icing Click HERE for recipe
(Or you can purchase the virgin ice pre-made kind and just add water, its also eggless)
Buy Online: http://virginice.ca/icing.html or if in Canada at The Bulk Barn.
-Plastic sandwich bags
-Food colors of your choice (I have used wilton )
-Parchment paper
-Cookie sheet tray

1. Make your royal icing. You will want it to be pretty thick. You can always add more liquid or icing sugar. If your very unsure put a bit into a sandwich baggie , cut an opening at the tip and try it out. It should pipe into a line without spreading.
2. Divide icing into bowls, and color any colors you may like.
3. Scoop each icing color into separate sandwich bags .
4. Line a cookie sheet with flat parchment paper.
5. When ready to pipe, one bag at a time, cut a very small hole at the pointy corner of the sandwich bag. I did every bag a different size cut so that the sprinkles would be various sizes and shapes.
6. Pipe lines across parchment paper as best as you can. Nothing needs to be straight or perfect here, which is nice, and less intimidating. (as you can see mine are not nearly straight)
7. Let icing lines dry overnight and then you can break them into any sizes you like. They will break into sprinkle like shapes very easily. I like the mixture of large, small, square, long, it adds a nice texture! Use these however you may like, on cookies, cupcakes or confetti cakes.
