Before launching Made With Luv And Sugar 4 years ago in Toronto, I opened my small at home business called Made With Luv Cakes in Thunder Bay Ontario.( my hometown)

 I have literally been baking side by side with my mom and noni since i could walk.  Previously a hairstylist for 5 years, i was forced to switch careers when battling a rare illness had taken its tole. Being the motivated individual i am, i started an at home cake business while undergoing medical treatments. Baking and cooking are a GREAT stress relief......ok so is eating the cake afterwards....but you get the point. When you are told "you will most likely be in a wheelchair before 40" it's pretty shocking, and honestly a struggle to figure out........great now what the hell will i do with my life!

 

Eventually I decided i was not going to let having Ehlers Danlos Syndrome ruin my life. What started out as a hobby has now turned into an amazing journey i could never have dreamed of, working with some of the most talented individuals. I try to remind people, not everyone can have a "normal" 9-5 job. I am making the best out of the situation life has given me. I really hope that my struggles will inspire someone, not to quit, or stop living. Everyday is a new day, maybe today is not great but tomorrow will be better.
